Law 43 of the Republic of Panama which regulates electronic commerce establishes that the acts and contracts granted or executed through an electronic document will be equally valid and will produce the same legal effects as if they had been executed in writing, using paper as support. 

The Model Law of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) on Electronic Commerce establishes in its fifth (5th) article that legal effects, validity, or binding force cannot be denied to information for the sole reason that be in the form of a data message.
